EM Restorations

Gottlieb - Top Score - 1975

This is the 1st title which started me on the road to the EM hobby and machine restorations. The machine was complete but not working due to the previous owner spraying the internals with a spray lubricant, which left all mechs and relay contacts with a coat of oil. Every relay and contacts were pulled down and cleaned to remove all traces of oil. All stepper, credit units and score reels  were dismantled, cleaned and adjusted. All wiring and electrics were inspected and tested prior to reassembling. A new door, coin entrance. door strike, were purchased, and coin mechs were removed with the machine set to free play. The play field was in very good condition, with the back glass being faded and flaking. A total redraw of the back glass was completed and printed onto translight material. Cabinet artwork was redrawn and adhesive vinyl applied.

Gottlieb - Card Whiz - 1976

This title was complete when purchased, however the cabinet and back box where in need of major repair. At one stage I did consider building a new cabinet.

Both the front and back of the cabinet were replaced and a full strip of paint and repair, sand and respray both internally and externally were carried out.

A playfield clean and touch up were required. Both apron and top ball arch required repainting and a new apron decal installed. All pop bumpers and caps, targets, lane plastics, rubbers and plastics were replaced with new. All mechs and electrics were inspected and adjustments made.

The backglass was in poor condition and a redraw in CAD software for printing onto a translight was conducted.

Gottlieb - Pro Football - 1973

This machine was in fair condition when purchased, however the wedge head back box was beyond repair and a new back box was manufactured.

The playfield was in excellent condition with a factory mylar installed. All cabinet artwork was redrawn, new bumper bodies and bumper caps, lane guides, and rubbers were replaced. All mechs including stepper units, score reels, score motor and flippers were dismantled and cleaned, inspected and adjusted. Electrically, a general inspection to all electrical parts was conducted. This machine was gifted to my daughter and son in law who reside in central QLD.

Gottlieb - Golden Arrow - 1977

In general this title was a 6 /10 when purchased. the cabinet and back box were in a solid condition and all cabinet artwork was redrawn and replaced with adhesive vinyl. The playfield required some minor touch ups and the back glass also need some repair to small areas which were flaking. Some minor electrical faults were found and rectified. Mechanically, all score reels, credit unit, flippers and steppers where dismantled, cleaned, adjusted and re installed. I thoroughly enjoy the game play on this title. I sold this machine to a friend in December 2020.
